This may not be the case for those who want to explore their vacation destination. To avoid confusion and frustration, make plans for how you will get around before you arrive. You will probably spend weeks booking your flight but less time considering your get around plan once you are there. You may not even bother leaving the strip. This makes for a pleasant stroll on a Sunday afternoon, but in the blazing heat of the Nevada dessert, it can leave you feeling worn out. You also do not want to deal with valet parking costs and paying to put the car in the hotel garage. If you are headed to Sin City, plant to utilize a combination of taxi cabs, the monorail system, moving walkways, and buses that run up and down the strip.

If your only option will be taxi cabs, make sure this is really cheaper than renting an automobile. Some resorts create an environment that makes guests want to stay on the property the entire time.
If this is the case, just determine how you will get from the airport to the resort and then back again, and forget about the cost of renting or paying for a cab. Many of these places offer off-site excursions that take a bus of guests to a certain destination and bring them back so you can experience the local culture without having to worry about exploring on your own.
